Tuia plicata "Atrovirens" 1.20 - 1.50 m / Thuja plicata "Atrovirens" / gradina-noastra

Tuia plicata "Atrovirens" 1.20 - 1.50 m / Thuja plicata "Atrovirens" /

Ramurile plantelor sunt in general turtite, dispuse in plan orizontal. Inaltime maxima :  12 - 15  m Latime maxima : 4 - 6 m Zona 5   -28.8°C / -23.4°C (rezistenta temperaturi minime). Crestere : rapida. Amplasare : soare, semi-umbra.   Zone de rezistenta pentru plante in Europa : Temperaturi minime medii anuale in °C*  Zona 1         < -45.5°C Zona 2   -45.5°C / -40.1°C Zona 3   -40.0°C / -34.5°C Zona 4   -34.4°C / -28.9°C Zona 5   -28.8°C / -23.4°C Zona 6   -23.3°C / -17.8°C Zona 7   -17.7°C / -12.3°C Zona 8   -12.2°C / -6.7°C Zona 9    -6.6°C / -1.2°C Zona 10  -1.1°C / +4.4°C Zona 11     > +4.4°C * Temperaturile minime  sunt un factor important care determina rezistenta plantelor (abilitatea plantelor de a supravietui in locuri unde pot aparea aceste temperaturi minime). Acest principiu a fost creat la inceputul anilor 1960 de catre „Department of Agriculture in the United States of America” si apoi a fost adaptat pentru Europa de catre W. Heinz si D. Schreiber. In baza acestui principiu, Europa a fost impartita in 11 zone.

Tuia placata Atrovirens" 1.20 - 1.50 m Thuja placata "Atrovirens"

Tuia placata Atrovirens" 1.20 - 1.50 m Thuja placata "Atrovirens"

Thuja belongs to the Cupressaceae family. They are evergreen trees, but there are many smaller varieties, usually in the form of bushes. These species are differentiated according to the size, color or shape of the leaves. It usually resembles Chamaecyparis (False Cypress), but the cones are shaped like rosebuds. The branches of the plants are generally flattened, arranged in a horizontal plane. The leaves are scaly and light green to golden in color, becoming darker with age. Thuja tolerates thick but not massive cuts. Prefers sunny or semi-shaded places. It is more durable than the False Cypress and can withstand cold drafts better. It adapts well to all types of soil, but does not tolerate areas with dry air. Thuja plicata 'Atrovirens' (Tuia plicata 'Atrovirens') is a conifer native to the United States of America, with a pyramidal shape. In the first years of growth, the main and secondary branches are dense and erect, over time they retain their conical shape, but become soft. The foliage is deep green, bright even in winter. It grows well in all types of soil, even calcareous, and tolerates repeated severe cutting. It is a variety very often used for hedges. Conifer Garden

Conifers, also known as softwoods, are part of the group of plants known as Gymnospermatophyta, a name derived from the Greek language and meaning plants with uncovered seeds, not enclosed in a fruit. The Conifer family comprises plants with needle-shaped evergreen leaves and includes species such as pines, cedars, firs, spruces, cypresses and thuja. Conifers can range in size from shrubs to huge trees. They are preferred in green landscaping because they maintain their constant appearance throughout the year, providing structure and continuity in all seasons. A great benefit of these plants is their longevity. Conifers can be used in a variety of settings, from formal to contemporary.
